Calochortus uniflorus Hook. & Arn.
Stem: generally < 5 cm, generally simple, bulblets present. Leaf: basal 10--40 cm, persistent; cauline 1--3, linear, reduced upward. Inflorescence: +- umbel-like; flowers 1--5, erect; bracts >= 2, 1--4 cm, linear. Flower: perianth bell-shaped, lilac; sepals 12--16 mm, lance-elliptic, acuminate; petals 15--28 mm, widely wedge-shaped to obovate, +- white to pink, often purple-spotted above nectary, not ciliate, sparsely hairy near nectary, nectary covered by ciliate membrane, bordered above by short hairs; filaments 7--8 mm, dilated at base, anthers 3--4 mm oblong, light blue to lilac, cream, or pink. Fruit: nodding, 15--25 mm, elliptic, narrowly winged. Seed: irregular, light brown, net-like. Chromosomes: 2n=20,40.
Ecology: Moist meadows; Elevation: < 500 m. Bioregional Distribution: NW, CaRH, n&c CCo, SnFrB; Distribution Outside California: Oregon. Flowering Time: Apr--Jun
