Calochortus raichei Farwig & V. Girard
Habit: Plant very glaucous, mealy. Stem: 10--100 cm, stout, generally simple. Leaf: basal 10--40 cm, channeled, persistent; cauline 1--4, 10--20 cm, reduced upward. Inflorescence: flowers 1--2, nodding; bracts paired, narrowly lanceolate, long-tapered. Flower: perianth +- spheric, closed at tip; sepals 15--25 mm, pale green tinged pale purple, widely lanceolate; petals 35--45 mm, pale yellow, obovate, ciliate, hairy, nectary +- depressed, bordered above by long, slender hairs; filaments 7--12 mm, dilated at base, anthers +- 6 mm, oblong, obtuse. Fruit: nodding, 25--35 mm, oblong, angled. Seed: irregular, dark brown.
Ecology: Open serpentine in woodland; Elevation: 200--300 m. Bioregional Distribution: s NCoRO (The Cedars, Big Austin Creek drainage, Sonoma Co.). Flowering Time: May--Aug Note: Potentially threatened by mining.
