Calochortus persistens Ownbey
Stem: +- 10 cm, simple. Leaf: basal +- 20 cm, persistent; cauline 1, 4--8 cm. Inflorescence: +- umbel-like; flowers 2, erect; bracts 2, 2--3 cm, lanceolate. Flower: perianth bell-shaped, persistent; sepals 35--40 mm, lance-elliptic, acuminate, +- purple; petals +- = sepals, pink to +- purple, obovate, yellow-ciliate, hairy only above nectary except nectary bordered below by wide, ciliate membrane, above by short hairs; filaments +- 10 mm, narrow to +- dilated below, anthers +- = filaments, lanceolate, pointed, purple. Fruit: nodding, +- 1 cm, winged. Chromosomes: 2n=20.
Ecology: Open, rocky areas; Elevation: 1000--1500 m. Bioregional Distribution: ne KR (Siskiyou Co.). Flowering Time: Jun--Jul
