Calochortus coeruleus (Kellogg) S. Watson
Stem: 3--15 cm, simple, generally slender, wavy or not. Leaf: basal 10--20 cm, persistent; cauline generally 0. Inflorescence: flowers 1--10, spreading to erect; bracts 2--several, 1--7 cm, lance-linear, acuminate. Flower: perianth bell-shaped; sepals +- 10 mm, lance-oblong, glabrous; petals 8--12 mm, obovate, clawed, +- blue, ciliate, hairy adaxially, nectary transverse, arched upward, +- depressed, bordered below by ciliate membranes, above by short hairs; filaments +- 4 mm, dilated at base, anthers 4 mm, oblong, acute to short-pointed. Fruit: nodding, 10--15 mm, widely elliptic, not angled. Seed: irregular, net-like.
Ecology: Common. Gravelly openings in woodland; Elevation: 600--2500 m. Bioregional Distribution: NW, CaR, SNH. Flowering Time: May--Jun Note: Intermediates to Calochortus tolmiei scattered but common in NW, CaR.
