Buddleja davidii Franch.
Habit: Shrub < 5 m, deciduous to semi-evergreen. Leaf: 5--30 cm, lanceolate, serrate to +- entire, adaxially dark green, hairs sparse, generally branched, abaxially white, hairs dense, generally branched. Inflorescence: panicle-like, 15--25 cm, slender, cylindric. Flower: calyx +- 3 mm; corolla salverform, lilac to purple with central orange spot, tube +- 10 mm, lobes 2--3 mm; stamens included. Fruit: 5--6 mm. Seed: winged at both ends.
Ecology: Disturbed, generally +- damp soil; Elevation: < 200 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, SnFrB; Distribution Outside California: native to China. Flowering Time: May--Sep Note: Commonly cultivated in California.
