Brodiaea stellaris S. Watson
Inflorescence: scape 2--6 cm, slender; pedicels <= 11 cm. Flower: perianth 17.5--25 mm, tube 6--9 mm, bell-shaped, transparent, not splitting in fruit, lobes 10.5--17 mm, violet, ascending, tips recurved, outer 4--6.5 mm wide, inner 4.5--7,5 mm wide; staminodes leaning toward stamens, 4.5--7.5 mm, white, erect, margins 1/4 incurved, tip hooded, notched; filaments 1--3 mm, fused at base to staminodes, wings extended at tip as 2 wide, white appendages, anthers 4--5.5 mm, tip notched; ovary 4.5--8.5 mm, green, style 4--5.5 mm. Chromosomes: n=6.
Ecology: Openings in chaparral, coastal forest, generally serpentine; Elevation: < 900 m. Bioregional Distribution: c&s NCo, NCoRO. Flowering Time: May--Jun
