Brassica fruticulosa Cirillo
Habit: Annual or perennial herb; glabrous. Stem: 3--9 dm, branched. Leaf: basal petioled, to 10 cm, early-deciduous, pinnately lobed, lateral lobe pairs 1--3(4); cauline petioled, dentate to lobed. Flower: sepals 3--8 mm; petals 7--15 mm, 3--4 mm wide. Fruit: spreading to ascending, 15--30 mm, 1.5--2 mm wide, cylindric, strongly narrowed between seeds; terminal segment 3--6 mm, conic, 0--1-seeded; pedicel spreading-ascending, 1--1.5(2.5) cm, slender. Seed: 10--26, 0.7--1.2 mm wide, spheric. Chromosomes: 2n=16.
Ecology: Uncommon. Disturbed areas, fields; Elevation: < 300 m. Bioregional Distribution: SCo; Distribution Outside California: native to southwestern Europe, northwestern Africa. Flowering Time: Dec--Mar
