Botrychium crenulatum W.H. Wagner
Leaf: sporophore, trophophore joined distal to mid-leaf; trophophore stalk 2--8 mm, blade 1-pinnate, generally < 6 cm, < 2 cm wide, oblong, thin, soft, shiny, green to yellow-green, pinnae +- well separated, spreading, 3--5 pairs, not midribbed, proximal obtusely fan-shaped, side margins of basal pinnae converging at 90--160°, outer margins generally finely crenate to dentate; sporophore 1--2-pinnate, triangular to deltate, branches spreading, basal branches often downturned at maturity, stalk 1--1.3 × trophophore, sporangia spaced. Chromosomes: 2n=90.
Ecology: Saturated hard water seeps and stream margins; Elevation: 1500--3600 m. Bioregional Distribution: NCoRH, CaRH, SNH, SnGb, SnBr, Wrn, SNE; Distribution Outside California: to Washington, Montana, Utah.
