Arabis oregana Rollins
Habit: Perennial herb; caudex branched or not; hairs simple and long-stalked-forked to 2 mm, some 3- to 4-rayed. Stem: 1 or few, branched or simple, 2--5 dm; hairs simple and forked. Leaf: basal 1.5--8(12) cm, obovate to oblanceolate, entire to wavy-margined or dentate, hairy on surfaces or occasionally margins only; cauline 3--6(7), not basally lobed, oblong, entire or dentate. Flower: sepals (5)6--8 mm; petals (10)12--15(16) mm, (3)4--5 mm wide, purple or pink. Fruit: erect to ascending, (3)4.5--5 cm, 1.5--2 mm wide, straight, glabrous; style 0.5--1 mm; pedicel ascending to erect, 5--10 mm, hairy to glabrous. Seed: 24--30, oblong; wing to 0.1 mm wide, at 1 end or 0. Chromosomes: 2n=32.
Ecology: Rocky hillsides, steep banks, chaparral; Elevation: 500--1400 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, NCoRO; Distribution Outside California: southern Oregon. Flowering Time: Apr--May
