Angelica tomentosa S. Watson
Habit: Plant 7--20 dm, glaucous, glabrous to hairy. Leaf: < 1 m diam, triangular-ovate, 2--3-ternate-pinnate; leaflets 2--12 cm, lanceolate to ovate, acute to acuminate, serrate to entire. Inflorescence: glabrous to hairy; bracts, bractlets 0; rays 20--60, 2--11 cm; rays, pedicels webbed at base. Flower: petals, ovary glabrous to hairy. Fruit: 6--10 mm, oblong to ovate. Chromosomes: 2n=22.
Ecology: Generally wooded areas; Elevation: 30--2400 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, NCoR, CW (exc SCoRI), SnGb, SnBr, PR; Distribution Outside California: southern Oregon. Flowering Time: Jun--Aug Note: +- intergrading with Angelica hendersonii in NCoRO.
