Amsinckia grandiflora (A. Gray) Kleeb. ex Greene.
Leaf: linear to narrow-ovate. Flower: calyx lobes unequal in width, 2--4 from fusion below middle, notched at tip, hairs brown; corolla 14--20 mm, tube 20-veined near base, limb 10--15 mm diam, red-orange. Fruit: 3--4 mm, +- brown, smooth, shiny, abaxial longitudinal ridges 3. Chromosomes: 2n=12.
Ecology: Grassy slopes; Elevation: < 300 m. Bioregional Distribution: nw SnJV (w San Joaquin Co.; presumed extinct in Contra Costa Co.). Flowering Time: Mar--May Note: Heterostylous.
