Leaf: main axis without prickle-like glands; leaflet midrib generally ending as awn-like gland 0.5--1.5 mm. Inflorescence: generally > 1 per stem tip. Chromosomes: 2n=20,40.
Ecology: Streambanks, canyons; Elevation: < 1200 m. Bioregional Distribution: ScV, c&s SCo, SnBr, PR, ne DSon; Distribution Outside California: United States, eastern Canada, northern Mexico. Flowering Time: May--Jul Note: Highly variable, especially outside California.
