Allium shevockii McNeal
Habit: Bulb 10--15 mm, +- spheric, bulblets 1--2, large, stalked, near base, forming thread-like rhizomes with 1 terminal bulb; outer coat sculpture 0 or cells +- square, in 2--3 rows basally; inner bulb coats light yellow, in age red. Stem: 10--20 cm. Leaf: 1, 1.5--2.5 × stem, cylindric. Inflorescence: flowers generally 12--30; pedicels 10--16 mm. Flower: 12--14 mm; perianth parts oblanceolate to ovate, maroon near tip, white or +- green basally, tips reflexed, curled; ovary crests 6, obvious, margins irregular, tips generally notched.
Ecology: Metamorphic outcrops, talus; Elevation: 2000--2500 m. Bioregional Distribution: s SNH (Spanish Needle Peak, ne Kern Co.), Teh (Horse Canyon). Flowering Time: Jun--Jul
