Allium campanulatum S. Watson
Habit: Bulb 1--2 cm, ovoid, bulblets generally clustered at base or on slender rhizomes; outer coat cells +- square, walls wavy; inner pink to white. Stem: 10--30 cm. Leaf: 2, +- = stem, widely channeled, generally withered in flower. Inflorescence: flowers 10--50; pedicels 1--2 cm. Flower: 5--8 mm; perianth parts +- spreading, lanceolate to ovate, rigid-keeled in fruit, acuminate, entire, rose to purple (white), with a purple crescent adaxially just above base; ovary crests 6, low, triangular, dentate. Chromosomes: n=7,14.
Ecology: Dry mountain slopes; Elevation: 600--2600 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, NCoRO, CaR, SNH, SCoRO, SW, MP; Distribution Outside California: Oregon, Nevada. Flowering Time: May--Aug
