Acacia baileyana F. Muell.
Habit: Shrub, small tree < 10 m, unarmed. Stem: twig angled, silver-blue, +- hairy. Leaf: 2-pinnate, < 4 cm, silver-blue; petiole < 2 mm, glabrous; axis with raised glands at distal pairs of 1° leaflets; 1° leaflets 2--5 pairs, 10--28 mm; 2° leaflets 8--24 pairs, 3.5--7.5 mm, 0.8--1.3 mm wide, linear. Inflorescence: raceme, occasionally panicle of 8--35 heads, > leaf. Flower: bright yellow. Fruit: 3--15 cm, 7--13 mm wide, straight, flat, leathery, dark brown, silver-blue when young, glabrous. Seed: aril yellow, club-shaped, forming cap on seed.
Ecology: Uncommon. Roadsides, disturbed areas; Elevation: < 300 m. Bioregional Distribution: CCo, SnFrB, SCo, WTR, SnGb; Distribution Outside California: native to southeastern Australia. Flowering Time: Feb--Apr
