Habit: Annual, perennial herb, occasionally subshrub; hairs 2-rayed, sessile, appressed. Leaf: entire, not lobed at base. Inflorescence: elongated. Flower: sepals spreading to erect, base not sac-like; petals wide-obovate to spoon-shaped, clawed, white to purple. Fruit: silicle, flat parallel to septum, unsegmented, dehiscent, round to obovate or elliptic; stigma entire. Seed: 2(4), in 1 or 2 rows, winged or not.
