the Big Trees to the boy at the school and at once received the reputation of being the greatest liar in the school and in the state of New York. He had such a reputation for this story that the details got to one of the teachers who reproved him severely for the sinful habit of exaggeration. Harper's Weekly in a short time illustrated and described the Big Trees and young Thomas laid a copy on the master's desk-- but he heard no more about the exaggeration habit. (altho the master had said that any one "who had sense knew that that couldn't be true"!!
