70_6 Kumlein (doubtless a relative of Thure Kumlien, Greene's teacher at Albion College; at least that is a guess) has printed an article on Greene in some Wisconsin medium of publication, possibly Wisconsin Academy of Sciences) consult Biol[ogical] Abstracts. -- Biol[ogical] Abstracts must be combed for articles relating to Pacific Coast Biography or exploration. -- A.J. McClatchie, author of Bull[etin] No. [Number] 3, Agricultural Experiment Section, Southern California Acad[emy] of Sci[ences]: " Milk: Composition, nature, Hygiene and Economic Methods of Handling," by A.J. McClatchie, Bacteriologist and Botanist of the Section |
70_7 - Jos. [Joseph] C. Nevin, Ph. D. His name appears as a member of the Board of Directors of the Southern California Academy of Sciences on page 2 of the bulletin cited under Mcclatchie's name as author, p. [page] 6 ante. the name of Dr. Anstruther Davidson appears as Second Vice President. -Thos. [Thomas] Nuttall. Some allusions to his travels in the South may be found on page 26 of his paper 'On the Genus Eriogonum". [cl. ms. note] F S Cal. 1:376 (annotated copy). It is in Jour [Journal] Phil. Acad. [Academy] vol. 1, pp 24, 33. On p. 31 are references to topography and description of distribution which must have been personally observed. |
