All this is extremely to the good.
While many small libraries are filled with fiction, still the people read.

The Creeks
-There is water in the Alamo at the bridge by the Dickie place--as much water as in the old days sixty years ago--the pools of water are very pleasing and the vegetation is much ranker than in the old days. There is no water in the Alamo at Neat Tate's place; no water at Jerett bridge. The underground water at Dickie place is forced to the surface by the sandstone rock strata which cover near the surface there. -Oct. 2, 1942.
-When I was a lad of five, and before and for long after, there was not a public library in Solano Co. unless at Vallayo and that is doubtful. At the present time every town has a library and (Cont. p. 38)
