HIs grand-daughter, Elizabeth Nevin, tells me he was married twice, first to a woman with scholarly tastes, second to a woman, Elizabeth's grandmother, who cared nothing for his botanical work, regarding it as one more thing which kept him too fully occupied, too busy for family and social [entracts]- Dec. 14, 1929
