Trangers to Redstone Park, Aug. 12

Mule-train left Tranger's at 7:256. Arrived at River Bridge -- east fork Kaweah -- at 10:30. Had a most invigorating swim in the Kaweah. Left at 1:05. Hot Haste went pretty lame. He has been going more or less lame ever since leaving Junction Camp but now he is dead lame. e had his last shoe replaced at the Soldier Camp just below Mineral King but it did not seem to make much difference.
However we got into Redstone Park at 4:00 o'clock. Now I had opportunity to break my long fast as to fruit

fruit and enjoyed especially the peaches; also the milk.
Sudworth of the U.S. Division of Forestry is here. Had a long talk with him this evening. He says he was offered the place at Yale Tuomey took. He is going to work the Sierras southward from Yosemite to Mt. Adelaide, or until the snow drives him out -- 2 1/2 or 3 mos. work.

It took me late in the night to pack up all my plunder-- specimens, blankets, saddles, etc but I am now all ready to go out.
