into a rather large pool - the water is still warm and the pebbles are covered with algae and toward the lower part there is some floating algae. I took specimens for Setchell.
At Funston Creek we climbed out of the canon over the talus. Thence up the hill where I had a fine view of Mt. Mills & Mt. Whitney. Before leaving Funston Creek we lunched.

Specimens of the large white fl. Gayophytum on the trail up Funston Creek in habit looked strikingly like Epilobium paniculatum

Coming up the Funston Creek trail, west wall of the Kern Canon, were found several Pinus monophylla trees of characteristic aspect & habit. They have very sharp needles. The high montane madia, flowers yellow, without purple or brown base, which I have collected before - counted the rays at the Funston Creek Camp - 8 invariably.

The Helianthus - Bidens like thing which I collected on the edge of a brook on the Coyote Pass trail, no , I note in a similar situation
