The third reason I did not fully understand and do not now recall.

I must ask Mr. Hopping again concerning this. At Cold Spring, 3260 ft. alt. the Mountain bur Oak, Quercus chrysolepis comes in. Perfumes of the crushed flowers of the sweet-scented shrub_. Used by some people in this region for a perfume, crushed flower tied in a twist in the handkerchief or similarly to ordinary perfumes - in a dressing drawer. _ Calycanthus
