Wolfskill Ranch, Putak Creek, Solano Co.

claimed the water rights in Putak Creek, told him he had no claim there, and ran him off. He went north to Cache Creek and took refuge with Gordon who owned a grant there. Later when Wolfskill got his claim straightened out, he returned and settled for good on putak. It would seem that William Wolfskill joined him in this enterprise and the grant was issued in their two names. So it was that William took as his share the north side of Putak, John the south side. John divided with his brother Saschel, who built his residence near that of John's. Milton Wolfskill was on the north side of Putak, upstream? Mathew was also on the north side.
