Fremontia californica Torr. Just below Timber Point, shrubs laden with fruits globose-ovate, 1 1/8 in. long, covered with short stiff hairs. Shrubs look like young seedling peach trees, the branches laden with fuzzy peaches.

Redwood Big Trees here at the lower timber line. Their being chaparral below everywhere,

- The buckeye leaves here have been burnt into a crisp, but the reddish-brown color is that of autumn.
