No. 702. Pedicularis semibarbata Gray.
Corolla pale yellow; galea short; lower lip short, 3-lobed,
the middle lobe largest, from the sinuses folds urn down inside the throat. Lower pair of filaments woolly on upper fourth or third. - Pine forest near Round Meadow, in dry soil. See p. 53 infra.

No. 703. Ceanothus cordulatus Kell. "Low Buck Brush",
Branches low spreading forming flat-topped thickets seldom more than 2 or 2 1/2 ft. high. Does not appear technically different from _603.

Ceanothus integerrimus. No. 604, con't. Deer Brush.
Hillsides white with bloom about Round Meadow. Yellowish-green veined trunks = characteristic.
