Silver Valley, Alpine Co., 7300 ft.
- Penstemon laetus Gray var. roezli (Regel.). No. 10,147. cont. Cor. [corolla] bright blue. Tube 3 lines long, throat 3 lines long. Upper lip very short, notched, recurved. Three lobes of lower lip equal, spreading in one plane. Folds of palate white, not hairy. Anthers horse-shoe shaped, dehiscent only half-way around. Style and all filaments glabrous. Above Bear Valley.

10, 163 cont. Cor parts 4! Cor. 8 1/2 lines long, light crimson, the base yellow, the yellow bordered above by a narrow zone of white. Anthers slightly united at base by a thin membrane. Swampy borders of lake, the mud so soft one could not walk on the surface. I threw in a young pine tree to get footing in reaching the plants.

spot, or at least not with sharply defined border, merging with the speckled limb. This feature occurs only in occasional plants apparently. Usually the corolla is simply scarlet.
- Mimulus Lewisii no. 10,164 cont:
Cor. [corolla] pink, 1 3/8 in.long. Lower lobes truncatish, upper lobes notched. Folds of throat yellow, brown-dotted, sparsely long hairy. Anther-cells divergent, short-bristly all around margin. Herbage glandular-sticky.
10,150 cont. Filaments all dilated downward (subulate). Petals white, aging slightly pinkish, obovate, rounded at apex, subentire (slightly erosulate).
- Streptanthus tortuosus var. orbiculatus, Hall. No. 10,140 cont. Filaments all distinct. Calyx purple. Petals whitish with very broad purple veins.
