Aug. 10, 1923. - Cont. from p. 51. No. 10,071. It has few, 1, 2 or 3 stems rising, not erect, but just off the perpendicular, leaning one might say. One cannot say decumbent, procumbent or ascending because the stems are straight from the tufted base. The infl. is a very close wand-like or narrower spike. - Cont. from p. 51. No. 10,073. The stems arise from a very dense and closely tufted base. They diverge, but are ascending and straightish; the effect is very spidery, since they are so slender and so sparsely leafy. - Ceanothus cordulatus Kell. Bushes 4 to 6 ft.h., twice as broad.
