Herbage very glaucous!!! but not white-glaucous, and yet distinctly glaucous. Corolla white, banner pink-veined in center, a little pink flushed shortly after opening, all the petals sordid in age. Jewett ranch, side of lane.
No. 10,401. Wyethia angustifolia (D.C.) Nutt.
Bracts of the involucre a bit purplish at base. With 10,400.
No. 10,402. Pogogyne douglasii Bth. Bottoms former winter pools near Wolfekill. Solano Co.

Primitive vegetation of the plains of the Sacramento Valley
- Lathyrus californicus, abundant on sandy "ridges." Likewise Wyethia
(no. 10,401) formed large colonies. Trifolium olivaceum Greene made entire fields of hay! in early days.
- The vegetation of the lowspots is partly indicated in nos. 10,402 to 10,406.
