Mt. St. Helena
No. 10,383. Amelanchier pallida [alnifolia Nutt. crossed out]. Calyx-lobes rather closely reflexed! A most remarkable clump in ca_on bottom: Stems very erect, 42 in number, 2 to 4 in. diam. [diameter] at base, 16 to 24 ft. high! It is a most remarkable stand set in a spot about 12 x 4 ft. at the ground. It is now in full flower. = [var. siskiyouensis Jepson crossed out]

Moist bottom of stream. Common in the locality. Heads depressed after flowering, becoming erect on expansion of head of achenes.

- Lathyrus vestitus Nutt., = L. bolanderi Wats var. violaceus Jepson. cont. from p. 172, no. 10,370. Keel turned abruptly upward at right angle from lower part, dull white, its tip faintly yellowish. Banner turning sordid in age. This appears no wise different from the plant of the Berkeley Hills or of the plains at Little Oak, w. Solano Co., California.
