No. 10,001. Calochortus pulchellus Dougl. Inside of petals quite hairy all over.

100 acres of it - a field near Walnut Creek.
- Cont. from p. 3. Samples of the country rock peculiar to the Arctostaphylos myrtifolia formation were taken and submitted to Dr. Geo. D. Louderback, the geologist. See his letter in Jepson Correspondence, vol. 17, p. 316.

Schneider's work on Salix
- Salix sessilifolia Nutt. One has only to compare carefully Schneider's own statements in Bot. Gaz. 67, [Botanical Gazette] to realize how vague he is on the sect. [section] Longifoliae. He is not at all accurate in his geographic names (Kajon Pass, sic, and so on). However, he excludes the vague S. fluviatilis and argopylla from Cal., for which I should be grateful.
- Salix cordata var. watsonii Bebb.
C.F. Baker's 924 (King's Ca_on, Ormsby Co. Nev.) is det. [determined] by Rydberg as S. watsonii; it has pedicels 3 1/2 mm. long (but he says in his Fl. Rocky Mts. [Flora Rocky Mountains] 2 mm.) 3 1/2 mm. makes it S. mackenziana in his Fl. [?] stipe or pedicel is concerned.
- S. cordata Mabl. A spm. [specimen] from Keene, N.H., E.J.C. Gilbert, is a good match for Abrams 4492, Yosemite Valley! Note the wonder-
