Went by train to Fairfax Manor, thence up stream and up hill westerly or a little south, thence to the left of a cow-ranch, taking down the headwaters of a dry stream that led us into a deep canon [canyon] and brought us out in the "wash" of San Anselmo Creek; thence straight up the hill to the second road, then south over the ridge to open country forming a broad low valley, thru lower part of which runs Lagunitas Creek (probable site of old Bon Tempe Ranch? - or this may have been 400 yds. up in the trees in the hills), thence to Lake Lagunitas and Ross _ [plus] Pt. San Quentin. -Miss Newbon [Newton? Newlon?], Miss Stewart, Miss Spalding, myself.
