Paso Robles to Mission Santa Inez

No. 8439. Thysanocarpus curvipes Hook. San Miguel, 622 ft.

No. 8440. Viola pedunculata T. & G. Paso Robles. Very common al the way to Santa Margarita, 1000 ft.

No. 8441. Floerkea douglasii Baill. Santa Margarita, 1000 ft.

No. 8442. Convolvulus cyclostegius House. Common and very showy on banks near the ocean a few miles s. [?] of San luis Obispo; i.e. near Pizmo.

No. 8443. Astragalus pomonensis Jones. Pizmo.

No. 8444. Amsinckia spectabilis F. & M. with 8443. No crest. Stamens in throat. = var microcarpa _(Greene).

-We pass across the Santa Maria River Valley thru Santa Maria town and finally run easterly to Los Olivos.

of the notch embracing respectively the very tips of the wing petals. Keel shorter, but only slightly shorter. Stems several from a central root crown, prostrate, then ascending, 2 to 3 ft. long.

-Cont. no. 8441. Florerkea [Floerkea] douglasii Baill. Petal white, a pure white, [stringly] 7-nerved towards the base, the lateral nerves for a short distance bearing a single row of densely set short hairs.

-Cont. no. 8444. This forms large spots of color. The corollas are very large and a bright orange yellow.

-From Los Olivos on our way to Mission Santa Inez we make an unnecessary detour to Santa Inez town. Mission Santa Inez is in a fine state of preservation as to the main church and the cloisters. Much of the old establishment beyond this is in ruins. The monk in charge or rather priest expressed much annoyance that the name Santa Inez
