No. 8542. Lupinus concinnus Agardh, var. orcuttii C.P. Sm. (Det. C.P. Sm.) Remarkable for its narrow sordid yellowish white banner. Wings light blue. Fls. very inconspicuous, half-concealed in the sort spike which is mostly exceeded or covered by the foliage. Wash.
No. 8543. Lotus tomentellus Greene. Banner nearly twice as long as the wings, these covering a minute or small keel.

No. 8544. Lupinus arizonicus (Wats.) Wats. Wash. Cor. a most distinctive purple, perhaps lavender-purple or maybe better crimson purple. Banner with a sharply defined central white spot of rhomboid or rather quadrate shape. This spot is much sharper and clearer tan in Lupines generally. It has a few purplish dots on it. Keel glabrous. See p. 140.

No. 8548. Lyrocarpa coulteri Hook. & Harv. This crucifer is woody at base for about 6 to 10 inches. Its flowers are a peculiar tawny yellow.
