Vallecito, 15 Apr. 1920. San Diego Co. c. 1600 ft.

-There is a spring 4 miles below Vallecito station. It is called Agua Caliente and is up a ca_on one mile to right. A road leads to it. The water is drinkable. It is lukewarm.--Vaquero McKane.

-As we ate breakfast this morning a mocking bird, perched on the top of a screw-bean tree, regaled us. It blew strong and cold yesterday, howled all night, and today the wind is very strong--perhaps gale force. The tops of the range west are heavily banked with fog. Southwesterly from us is the great heavy mass of Laguna Mt., showing blue and dark. I write "Laguna Mt.," as the name given me by the Vaquero McKane.

No. 8535. Eustoma silenifolium Salisb.
Capsule 2-valved with marginal placentae; perennial! One capsule has 3 valves but I take it to be teratological. Alkaline marsh.

No. 8536. Sisymbrium pinnatum Greene =Descurainia pinnata
This crucifer grew in shade of a Prosopis
