34_138 White Mts. Mono Co. Aug. 1 1917 No. 7366. Erigeron clokeyi Cronq. Rays lavender. Rocky slope. County Line Hill, 11,150 ft. Aug. 1. --The White Mountains were first botanized by W.H. Shockley. He is a mining engineer and was for a time at Candelaria, Esmeralda Co., Nev, not far from this place. He now lives at Palo Alto. He knows chinese and talks it well, having been an engineer in China.
