- Today Mrs. A.L. Grant, Dr. Helen Gilkey and myself went on an excursion along the South Fork of the Stanislaus River to Italian Bar. It was fine botanizing ground. I collected Jepsonia heterandra in its native home, rocky cliffs and shelving vertical strata. It was in fruit or leaf only. Ranunculus hystriculus was found in abundance in similar or the same places in dead ripe fruit.
