with a crease down the middle of each lobe, the lobes produced above into a narrow process or lip notched slightly at apex, the three lips surrounding the style rather closely so that they do not appear to be distinct from it.
No. 6251. Euphorbia crenulata Engelm. See p. 34. Shady woods, north slopes.
No. 6252 Carum Kelloggii Gray. About 50 acres of this I walked thru on the adobe flat of Conn Valley. There was probably much more of it. It is very largely pure, that is, it is the major thing.

No. 6254. Calochortus uniflorus H. & A. Corolla lavender!! pure lavender. Gland crescent-shaped below, i.e. convexly crescent-shaped, on upper side truncate & laciniate regularly, the gland broader than long. Grows in the wet flats of Conn Valley, where the adobe is wet the bulbs pull right up with the stems; in the dried-out adobe the soil is so hard & brick-like that the bulbs are with difficulty extracted from the ground in connection with the stems.
No. 6255. Linanthus parviflorus Greene. [androsaceus] White-fld!! The white-fld. form is very abundant. Conn Valley hillsides amongst the oaks.
