No. 6492. Lilium parvum Kell. Bulb rhizomatous, the rootstock horizontal. Scales 3-jointed! Banks of streamlet in pine woods.
No. 6493. Lotus torreyi Greene [L. oblongifolius var. nevadensis] Banner yellow, ovate, obtuse, with a short broad claw and a pair of short auricles or processes at base of blade. Banner and keel white. Dry pine woods near streamlets, not in marshy or wet meadow spots.

No. 6494. Mimulus moschatus Dougl. var. longiflorus Gray. Det. A.L.G. Dry pinewoods mostly, sometimes in wet places. Corolla subregular but obviously 2-lipped. Lobes transversely oblong, slightly emarginate. Corolla light yellow. Herbage clammy-pubescent.
No. 6495. Lupinus breweri Gray. Wings dropped below keel, so that the keel seems to stand up in center of corolla. Corolla a little suggestive of a Larkspur flower. Keel a little ciliate. -- The condition described as to position of wings is not always or perhaps generally true. Corolla blue, the white spot of the banner changing to purple. Fls. very dark purple on drying
