31_12 Balsa, s.e. of Gilroy ---------- No. 6207. Frankenia grandifolia C. & S. var. campestris Gray. Stamens much exserted. Herbage very dry. No. 6208. Calicornia subterminalis? This is very distinct from the ordinary Salicornia of the Bay region. Joints short, rosary-like. No. 6209. [Crossed out: Centromadia rudis] = Hemizonia punggens (H. & A.) T. & G. Thickets in fields 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 feet high. Prickles very effective, causing one's hands to sting and burn for some time after putting the plants in the press. No. 6210.
