Mohave Desert.
Trail directions from man at Springs; to Warrens Well via Burns Ca_on.
- Turn to right just beyond ranch, about 12 miles up see sign board, take left hand to Lone Cabin, about one mile beyond there is a turn to right to Mound Spring Ranch.
After this two roads trun to Bean Valley.
Cross Antelope Creek, water just to right. Road follows hogs back and drops down into Burn's Ca_on. About one mile Burn ca_on wet spot on hill, water trough. 1/4 mile below = wire corral, go through, Turn to right. Down through wash and then right hand track up to the Pipes. From Pipes into another corral, via draws

up & down. Follow draw after wire corral and swing to left into Warren's Well.
Out water
-Swarthout, says the desert shrubs are the main resource of their cattle, 700 head. He mentioned first Franseria dumosa and called it a sort of sage. When I remarked that my animals would eat it only when they are very hungry he laughed and said he guessed it was a poverty diet. He praised highly Atriplex torreyi and called it Water Sage (which is a fine name). He said the cattle were very fond of it. He said the cattle would not touch Isomeris arborea which is now in fl.
