Perianth segments broadly lanceolate, whitish, with green or brown midvein. Crests notched or toothed at apex. Style barely 3-cleft. No5880. Calochortus kennedyi Porter ridges on Ord Mt. Early for it as yet; most plants in bud. No. 5881. Peucedanum parishii C. & R. Ridges on Ord Mt. Flowers whitish. No. 5882. Cirsium This is the common species in the desert. Flowers white. 30_47 3 May 1914. is merely the cymosely branched summit of the stem, a head terminating the main axis and one on each of the simple branches. Ord. Mt. No. 5883. Phacelia campanularia Gray. Fils. slightly pubescent, dilated at very base, without crests or appendages. Corolla royal purple, cleft 1/3 the way down. Ovules numerous, on central i.e. axile plancentae which are quite free from each other as in Mimulus species. Abundant in stream beds, very luxuriant and free flowering - the washes as if decorated for a festival. Also more luxuriant on |
