Fils. slightly pubescent, dilated at very base, without crests or appendages. Corolla royal purple, cleft 1/3 the way down. Ovules numerous, on central i.e. axile plancentae which are quite free from each other as in Mimulus species. Abundant in stream beds, very luxuriant and free flowering - the washes as if decorated for a festival. Also more luxuriant on
