Berkeley - Rhododendron occidentale. "On Del Norte coast at St. George's Sound, on the plains outside the forest belt, grows a low pink-flowered Rhod. which looks different from the ordinary Rhod. occid. It is called by the children there, Red Honeysuckle. - Miss C.M. Hoak, Aug. 1, 1914. - Miss Hoak asked what I desired from Los Angeles. Practically everything that grows there, said I. It is an interesting region. "That is the flora which Abram did up" said she. Then she added with a smile: It is the flora which did up Abrams. There are acout 100 to 150 common things which we all knew that are not in the book. It is maddening to use."
