30_182 Barstow - The country hereabouts, so filled with flowers when we left here four weeks ago, is now quite dry. The Abronia villosa flourishes on the sandy flats, its pink-lavender flowers forming a fine tone against the gray sand. They are most perfect where they grow. They cannot be gathered for home decoration nor will the make fine specimens pressed.
