-Parish says: "Huatamote, is the spelling of the Baccharis.
It is Indian, or at least there is no such Spanish name. Hence the corruption water-motor." Manson says, "Water-moody is another form and the one I have most commonly heard."

2 to 3 ft.h. Banner roundish with a small but definite notch slightly shorter than the wings which are narrow and with a similar small notch at apex. Wings shorter than keel, the latter rather broad. Cor. violet, a pretty color against the soft grey of its leaves.
