No. 6047. Euphorbia eremica Jepson n.sp.
Trailing. Glands 4, petal-like, whitish, oblong with a notch at apex, bearing a central yellow gland with a slight raised border. Stamens with divergently spreading anther-like lobes, 5 or 4 to an invol. [involucre]
- We are now pulling acorss the sands of the Conchilla Desert and it is very slow and very hard on the animals. The sand is deep and runs over the wheels. The vegetation is scant or rather it is gone as there was, evidently, considerable annual vegetation. Larrea tridentata is the prevailing species now. There is Euphorbia no. 6047,

No. 6048. Baileya pauciradiata Harv. & Gray.
Composite. Common on Conchilla Desert.
No. 6049. Panicum urvilleanum Kunth.
Grass. Conchilla Desert, [common] Det. A. S.H.
No. 6050. Atriplex canescens but the shrubs a rather dark green. So much so that I did not recognize them until I saw the fruit. 4 to 6 ft. h. roundish, [?] near Palm Springs.
No. 6051. Abronia villosa Wats.
Fls. pink purple. Annual. I see no dif. [difference] betw. [between] this and plant taken from Barstow. Conchilla Desert.
