downward by a sharp low ridge. Sandy bottom, Calico Wash. Ovules in each cell, 6, 7, 8. Ovary free or essentially free from perianth. Stamens distictly on very base of perianth. Anthers subcordate, the cells as it were turned back on themselves and forming a couple of greenisn ridges on back of anther Per. segments involute after anthesis and persistent as narrow or subulate structures. Stamens shorten than per. segments. Per. segs. diameter 2 lines long; per. 4 lines

Calyx - teeth short, acute. Cor. [corolla] purple. Banner strongly notched. Stamens 9 _ 1. Wings and keel equal, the curved auricles on latter very strong.
Deep-sand of wash.
No 5815. Canby candida Parry. Petals 6, orbicular. Sepals 3, roundish, caducous stames 5! Ovary subglobose, the three linear stigmas decurrent upon its sides from the apex and appressed to ovary wall but not adnate, altho seemingly so. Stamens 5, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6.
