Bracts closely subtending flo, broad, white-centered with [?] a deeply laciniate margin green. Cor. pale cream with a mere tinge of crimson in center.
No.6010. Philibertia hirtella Parish. Runners running out over the sands in washes. Very slender, the nodes very remote, 5 to 10 ft. long!

very penetrating, like the small spicules on cactus species. Plants depressed-globose, very dense, the stems and branches numerous and intricately interwoven in growth, like Eriogonum nidularium, so that it is impossible or at least impracticable to separate a portion for a specimen without considerable tearing.
