29_34 McCloud to Bartles 3400 ft. Aug 10 1914 but is not erect like that species and the leaves are broad. No. 5744. Geophytum ramosissimum T. & G. Petals 1 line long, ovate, obtuse, white, a greenish area at very base. Style a little clavate-dilated beneath stigma which is green, capitate. The petals have a suggestion of quadrate --Between McCloud and Bartles the brush which has bome up on the logged lands appears to be, from the train window, more than Arctostaphylos patula, less than half Ceanothus velutinus, with a sprinkling of Ceanothus integerr. --Purshia tridentata, common |
