David Douglas cont. [continued]
-Astragalus douglasii Gray rests on a Douglas plant. In its typical form it occurs only in the inner part of the South Coast Ranges, tho. [though] it gets nearer the coast, perhaps, in Arrastre Canon, San Gabriel Mts.
-Astragalus leucophyllus T & G., is strictly of the Inner Coast Range, but in the Mt. Hamilton Range comes as far west as the hills between Mission San Jose and Sunol Valley. Douglas might, without moving far from the Mission establishments collected it near Sunol. But, it is at Bicknell, n. [near] Santa Barbara Co. [County]! Jepson 12, 263, right on the Mission trail.
